Welcome to my website, my name is Candy Barta and I am an Authorised Civil Marriage Celebrant, living on the beautiful Gold Coast, Queensland. I perform wedding ceremonies for couples here on the Gold coast, in Brisbane, Coolangatta and Tweed Heads and I also perform wedding ceremonies for interstate visitors wanting to be married on the Gold Coast. For overseas visitors wanting to be married here in Australia, I have all the information you need to make it a stress free and easy process.

I believe finding a Marriage Celebrant you like and feel comfortable with, is quite a personal and somewhat intimate choice and because there are so many great celebrants on the Gold Coast who offer a very similar service, I think the personality and style of the Celebrant, is what will shine through and make that special difference.  Therefore I would like to tell you a little bit about myself so you can then decide if I am the type of person you think you would like and also could trust to perform your wedding ceremony on your very special and all important day.

I am 50 yrs old and believe passionately in the union of marriage and the commitment between two people who are in love. I am very proud to say that I have been happily married for 19 wonderful years to my husband Oliver, who is a Police Officer. Oliver and I were married after knowing each other for only 3 months, very romantic, yet at the time some said foolish, but we knew we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives and here we are today, still in love, so I am a big believer in romance and the old saying, (when you know, you know!)

We have two beautiful and very energetic children, whom we adore and who keep us very busy and we moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney in 2004. We really do love it here, we have a beautiful waterfront home at Mermaid waters and some of my clients have actually had their ceremony down on our jetty, because they liked the outlook so much, take a look at the photo from my testimonials.

 I have been a Fashion Model/Actress, from the age of 18, which enabled me to live and work in New York, London and Hong Kong and to travel the rest of the world extensively. Modelling and acting has taught me valuable lessons in public speaking, confidence, the ability to make people feel at ease and relaxed in my company and it has taught me impeccable grooming skills. I still enjoy modelling here on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, you may have seen me in a fashion show at your local Shopping Centre, or even at the Bridal Expo’s fashion shows as mother of the bride!
I made the decision to become a Marriage Celebrant, because I love meeting new people and I thought what a lovely career it would be to not only meet new people, but to have the opportunity to take part in such wonderful and joyous occasions in people’s lives.

To me it is a privilege being a Marriage Celebrant, every couple and every ceremony is so special and so unique, it is truly such an honour to say those special words “I now pronounce you husband and wife,” to share that experience with a couple, it’s amazing, I still get goose bumps when I hear the Bride and Groom say their vows!
